Season 1[]
- "Gentlemen, meet the Hydro-Sat 3000-Z. Blow your head clean off."
"The 3000? That's not even supposed to come out till Christmas."

Ellis attended Jefferson Elementary with Cory Matthews and Shawn Hunter, who became his friends. One day at school, Ellis, Cory and Shawn discussed what superhero they would want as a father, and Ellis responded that he would like Batman to be his father, since Batman had the Batcave and the Batmobile. Shawn then pointed out that Batman also let Robin use his things despite only being his ward, prompting Ellis to wonder how one became a war, adding that he thought he would make somebody a very cool ward. The topic then shifted to the upcoming water war, and Shawn and Ellis displayed their water guns. Cory was stunned to see Ellis' model, the Hydro-Sat 3000-Z, which was not to come out until Christmas, and Ellis responded that he "knew a guy." Cory indicated that he did not need to get a water gun since he had a water balloon, but as he went to the school fountain to fill it up, Ellis and the others shot at Cory as he yelled that he would get a water gun.
Ellis later showed up to the backyard of the Matthews Residence with Shawn and Stuart Minkus; however, Cory was busy painting a fence. Cory tricked them into helping him paint the fence, although Minkus quickly pointed it out to Shawn and Ellis. The trio still helped Cory for a while in exchange for food, but after a while, when Cory was displeased with them, Ellis, Shawn and Minkus left to attend the water war. Cory eventually joined them with his own Hydro-Sat 3000-Z.[1]
