Synopsis[]

Humiliated by what he's forced to do in pledges for fraternities, Eric decides to start his own fraternity to throw parties and get girls. Jack doesn't like the idea, but is forced to go along because Eric included his name on the flyer. Dean Borak, however, is suspicious. He thinks the fraternity, called "Magnum Pi" (after a T-shirt Eric saw of the TV show) is fake, and demands to see the founding alumni, whom Jack claims are Ted Lange and Bernie Kopell of The Love Boat. The next night, at their party, Dean Borak shows up, furious, but is left speechless when Ted Lange and Bernie Kopell miraculously show up. They order the fraternity shut down the next morning, but Jack, Eric, and the dozens of girls that show up party for the rest of the night.

Meanwhile, Shawn is getting down on himself about going to college. He begins slacking off because he doesn't think he'll actually get in. But when a girl in his building invites him to her class, Shawn cannot reject. Lucky for him, he really likes the class and seems to have a knack for it, but this only makes him shirk the schoolwork from high school that is required of him. When Feeny spots him writing an essay for college instead of attending class, he suspends Shawn, much to Cory's dismay. Shawn is mortified when his essay, which he had worked so hard on, receives an F. The professor of the class tells Shawn he has good ideas, but is missing the basics. Knowing this, Shawn goes back to class with a new determination to do well and get into college.
